2010 Newsletter

 President’s Message,

As I drove up to the club to see how the new construction is going, I look to where the old
clubhouse sat and was reminded of all the good times had there. The patio on a warm summer
day was a great gathering place to talk about your game and take in the scenery. There is a part
of me that will always miss the old place. However, with progress comes change and I am
confident more good times will be had overlooking the eighteenth green and the bay.

This being said, I received plenty of compliments from those who visited the club this winter. A
great deal of work was done since last fall to get the clubhouse ready for the 2010 golf season.
Although, things seem to be a bit paced with the anticipation of an early season, we hope to have the building ready for the first of May.

Even though the clubhouse project took a lot of attention we have not forgotten the course. Over
the last few years we had numerous improvements in the quality of the greens and overall
course condition, water dam reconstruction and improved drainage system. Hopefully, the last
major drainage issues will be addresses this spring and we can move on to other course projects.
At the last semi-annual meeting there was a concern raised about the mowing heights of tees,
rough, fairways and greens. Over the winter we met with other clubs to see how they handle the
heights of different cuts the result being some adjustments will be made to improve the
playability for all.

As we look forward to a new golfing season I would like to thank the Board Members both past and present, volunteers, staff, sponsors and you the members for all your support and hard work over the years. It is with great pleasure, on behalf of the Board and myself that we invite all members and guests to a Sunday brunch on May 16 starting at 9am to view the new clubhouse and celebrate imaginative beginnings.

Enjoy the golf season with family, friends and guests.
